This story could be used in a variety of teaching scenarios. Rufus loves to dance, but doesn't go to the ball competition because all his friends have paired up with better dancers. He makes a new friend (that also has no one wanting to dance w/her). Somehow they dance beautifully together!
Some explanation beforehand about what "two left feet" means would be helpful for younger children. Cute story, good message. Suprise ending (that the kids might actually be able to guess if you ask them).
